Meet Poppy! Curly girl from Doncaster, UK shares the trials and tribulations she encountered on her journey to returning natural. From 0 - 100, Poppy's curl confidence sky rocketed and we couldn't be more pleased for her!
What inspired you to return natural?
I am from Doncaster in the UK I transitioned to natural haircare about 2 years ago and have been doing the curly girl method for the last year. I had strong ringlets when I was younger and this developed into very awkward and straight frizz. I had a lot of damage at my hairline and never left the house feeling happy with my appearance.
My Aunty had begun following the method a few months previously and she urged me to give it a go, at first I wasn’t convinced and just switched to a shampoo without SLS’s then upon seeing the fabulous results and how much extra confidence it gave me I knew i must continue. Since then I have fallen in love with natural haircare and enhancing my natural curls. I also like to my friends with naturally wavy/curly hair about little things they could do to improve their hair health. Its overall such a fascinating and interesting hobby.
What were the challenges (if any) along the way of your healthy hair journey?
Learning what products worked and didn’t work for me, it is always a challenge seeing how things affect your hair and watching it change. It was also difficult to prevent curls from dropping out of my hair. This is why it’s important to use a good gel and plenty of water during application.
What is your number 1 curl tip?
Don't be afraid of adding more product and water, they are your friends and helped me endlessly with taming my curls.
What made you buy Flora & Curl products? How did you hear about us?
I have seen Flora & Curl on many social media platforms and when someone recommended the gel to me I knew I had to check it out.
How did you see your hair change after using Flora & Curl products?
My hair smells amazing seems more happy with me overall and isn’t weighted down with too much product.
Which Flora & Curl product is your favourite and why?
The Sweet Hibiscus Curl Defining Gel is my favourite product as it has a nice light hold that doesn’t weigh my curls down. The packaging and scent are amazing and the ingredients are packed with goodness for my hair.
What is your current Flora & Curl haircare routine?
I use the Sweet Hibiscus Curl Activating Lotion and Sweet Hibiscus Curl Defining Gel, which both are amazing as well as the Rose Water Curl Mist as a refresh spray. Love them all!
What sets Flora & Curl apart from other brands/products on the market?
The fragrance is amazing!!! And the packaging is such high quality, I always appreciate a pump on a bottle. Its really nice that all the products are all nature and specifically designed for curly hair.
