Meet Sepideh, currently residing in beautiful Dubai! Sepideh hadn't always loved her curls, and when she tried to, she was greeted with a sore and itchy scalp from experimenting with harsh bleaches. She now has gorgeous curls and a healthy scalp, here's how she did it!

The Journey

What inspired you to return natural?

Hello to all beautiful curly girls. My name is Sepideh, I am 29 and living in Dubai, I used to do keratin and straightening methods when I was younger as I did not like my curls. But a few years had passed and I matured. I started to believe that my natural curls were/are so pretty so I found out how I had to look after my curls. I started this journey by watching videos on youtube and instagram.

In the first days, I purchased some affordable products because I was not a master in styling, then a few months passed by and I got familiar with CG method which really helped me. Then I tried to buy some sulphate, Paraben, silicone free products. Afterwards, my hair becomes much healthier and shinier. What were the challenges (if any) along the way of your healthy hair journey?

My hair had become dry and unhealthy a few months ago - this was the result consistently bleaching and colouring my hair. I used to deep condition and treat my hair with hair masks, I was so upset with the result of my hair on wash day and my curl clumps got very small and frizzy after diffusing. I did a consultation with a professional hair stylist and he advised me to cut and trim my hair to reach to healthy hair. So I had my hair cut a few weeks ago and my hair has become very nice and nowadays my curls have become defined and pretty.

What is your number 1 curl tip?

My number 1 tip and trick for all curly girls is to do deep conditioning and always style on a soaking wet hair. This is because these method enhance your curls much better with minimal frizz.
