Meet Diksha from the UAE! She is sharing how she went from "hating" her hair due to the frizz and rough texture, to now loving and looking after her curls with only the best products and clean regimens for healthy, hydrated hair!

The Journey

What inspired you to return natural?

I reside in the UAE and was introduced to CGM in December, 2018. It all happened when I had started hating my hair due to their frizzy and rough texture. I was all about using products which contained silicones and sulphates. I didn't even have a slight idea about leave-ins, curl creams, hair gels, hair mousses, etc. My curl journey started after coming across various curly hair bloggers. Their knowledge really helped me grow in this journey. Learning new techniques, seeing them try new products, everything was so new to me then. It has been a long journey. I have introduced so many of my curl friends to CGM and I am so proud of that.

After trying so many brands, after so much trial and error, I can finally say that I have found a brand which has helped me fix my curly haired problems. Deep conditioning with the F&C Rose Water Cream Conditioner with a heat cap, herbal tea rinses, adding more water while using my products have literally been game changers for me in my hair journey. The fact that Flora & Curl uses so many botanical extracts and not chemicals in their products makes me feel amazing.

What were the challenges (if any) along the way of your healthy hair journey?

The main challenge that I faced was the availability of products. None of the brands were available so it was hard to work with the same products. There was a time when I was feeling frustrated as I could only find 1 or 2 products in the market. Ordering products from USA or UK were costing a bomb so I stuck to using the same products but adopted different techniques.

What is your number 1 curl tip?

Emulsify the products in your palms before applying them to your hair. It saves a great deal of product and also saves the trouble of having weighed down hair.

Discovering Flora & Curl

What made you buy Flora & Curl products? How did you hear about us?

I found out about Flora & Curl through HonestLiz. My first order with Flora & Curl was in 2019. I've been hooked on to the brand since then! It's my holy grail and has given me consistent results almost every wash day.

How did you see your hair change after using Flora & Curl products?

My hair felt like they had a perfect balance of moisture and protein. They looked healthier and more shinier.

Which Flora & Curl product is your favourite and why?

It's the Rose Water Cream Conditioner and Sweet Hibiscus Curl Defining Gel! The fact that Flora & Curl uses so many botanical extracts and not chemicals in their products makes me feel amazing.

What is your current Flora & Curl haircare routine?

I start off with the Citrus Superfruit Radiance Shampoo, condition it with the Rose Water Cream Conditioner and keep it for at least 10 mins under a heat cap. After detangling, apply the Rose Water Detangling Lotion (depending on how much moisture my hair needs,) mix the Sweet Hibiscus Curl Activating Lotion and the Sweet Hibiscus Curl Defining Gel and emulsify it with water to lightly graze it and scrunch my hair.

What sets Flora & Curl apart from other brands/products on the market?

The botanical extracts.
