Meet Kaisha, a natural hair enthusiast from London, UK who had suffered from severe eczema until she made the switch to return natural with our plant-powered products.
What inspired you to return natural?
My name is Kaisha and I'm from London. Suffering from eczema, I would only get my hair relaxed twice a year as my scalp is sensitive and would get really irritated. So when it came the time to relax my hair, I wasn't able to due to an eczema flair up. 6 months turned into 7, 7 months turned into 8, and by the time I knew it, I was pretty much transitioning. This is where my natural hair journey began. I can honestly say being 2 years fully natural, I haven't had an eczema flare up yet.
What were the challenges (if any) along the way of your healthy hair journey?
Definitely transitioning! As my natural curls grew longer, It got to a point where the two textures of my hair were really hard to manage and my hair would naturally break off at the line of demarcation. I just knew I had to get rid of those ends. Plus, I love to deep condition, and It would hurt me to deep condition my ends when I knew I was going to cut them off.
What is your number 1 curl tip?
Always clarify your hair once a month. As naturals, we can get a lot of build up, so it is always nice to reset your curls and start fresh.
What made you buy Flora & Curl products? How did you hear about us?
It was the packaging for me! I actually came across Flora & Curl on Instagram and was automatically drawn in my the brands patterns and colours.
I also love the Flora & Curl mission of only using natural, pure and potent ingredients.
How did you see your hair change after using Flora & Curl products?
My hair has become more moisturised, shiner and softer.
I am able to layer on products really well and watch my twist outs become more defined.
Which Flora & Curl product is your favourite and why?
Oooooo, that's such a hard one. I'd have to say the new Sweet Hibiscus Twist & Braid Cream. It's so thick and creamy, and smells of Turkish delight too! It leaves my hair super soft, defined and moisturised.
What is your current Flora & Curl haircare routine?
I like to start by cleansing with the Rose Water Cream Shampoo as it’s gentle and doesn’t strip my hair of its moisture. I then condition with the Rose Water Cream Conditioner. I tend to leave this on for an hour or so while I finish cleaning. Not rinsing out the conditioner fully (this gives my curls a little extra moisture), I then do the LCO method. Applying the Rose Water Detangling Lotion , Sweet Hibiscus Twist & Braid Cream and seal everything in with the Citrus Superfruit Radiance Oil.
