These products are amazing!

I love all of these products so far. The scalp refresher helps to energize my hair and gives it root volume. The leave in conditioner is my absolute favorite and smells divine. I recommend these products to anyone. So pleased with them.

5 Helpful Tips for Transitioning! Return Natural with Flora & Curl

We learnt that a lot about our new curl community members that started to embrace their curls nearly a year ago during the global pandemic. It was a tough time for us all, but we are so proud and happy that you started to see the real beauty in those curls, kinks and coils!

We are sure that we are seeing a lot more people joining us on our social media channels who are wanting to learn more about their curls and gain some insight on how to transition successfully and healthily. So, we have collated 5 helpful tips for transitioning - just for our soon-to-be curlies!

1. Shampoo with sulfate-free products like our shampoos!

Sulfate, Silicone, Sulfate & Paraben Free Curl Shampoo

Try our Organic Rose & Honey Cream Shampoo if you're in need of extra hydration or our African Citrus Bloom Superfruit Shampoo to relieve damaged, lacklustre curls.

Shampooing with a sulfate-free cleanser is a must in any walk of a curlies journey. Sulfates are extremely drying to curls due to curls taking out the moisture of the hair shaft. Sulfates leave curls brittle, damaged and more prone to breakage.

2. Pre-poo once a week with our Superfruit Hair Oil.

Pre-Poo, Hot Oil Scalp Treatment for Dry, Sensitive Scalps & Curls

The benefits of pre-pooing are never-ending. For instance, using natural oils to nourish the scalp not only soothes and replenishes, but it also encourages hair growth and makes for a luxurious wash day. Let your curls drink from our African Citrus Hair Oil

3. Clarify to remove build-up with our Clay Wash.

Clay Wash For Sensitive Scalps and Resetting Curl Pattern

Using our Coconut Mint Curl Refresh Clay Wash helps rid impurities, hard water and build-up on the scalp while simultaneously pressing reset on those curls through a deep, yet gentle cleanse. Our clay wash also maintains healthy oil production from the scalp, which in turn keeps your curls healthy. Clarify your curls every 3-4 weeks for optimal scalp health.

Remember:
HAPPY SCALP, HAPPY CURLS.

4. Apply a leave-in after every wash.

Organic Rose & Honey Cruelty-Free, Plant-Based Leave-In Detangler for All Curl Types

After every washday simply apply a few plops of our oh so hydrating Organic Rose & Honey Leave-In Detangler. Watch those knots melt, while your curls lock in the hydration from our botanical blend of honey, rose water and oat silk  (great for reducing unwanted wash day frizz too).

5. Refresh daily with a natural mist like our Jasmine Oasis Hair Mist.

Jasmine Oasis Hair Mist Plant-Powered Hydration for Kinks, Coils & Curly Hair Types

Our hair mist is the PERFECT companion for when you're out and about and your curls are in need of a hydration boost. Yes, water can be argued as the best hydrator, however, unlike water, our Jasmine Oasis Hair Mist does not contain drying elements such as:

  • Metal minerals
  • Fluorides (used in toothpaste)
  • Chloramines (disinfectant of water)

Our hair mist hydrates those curls the way nature intended - with a carefully composed blend of jasmine oil (great for scalp health), aloe vera powder (replenishing) and organic rose water.

We hope this helps you out on your transition and we would also LOVE to hear your individual curl story! Maybe you transitioned during the pandemic, or perhaps you wanted to give your curls a second chance; whatever the story, we want to hear it and share with our curl community that may need that additional push to return natural!

So, what do you say? Send us an email at social@floracurl.com with a before and after photo one before you transitioned and another during your transition! Not only would this be a fab opportunity to help people see the beauty in their curls, kinks and coils, it’s a great way to develop more curl confidence too! We hope to hear from you soon! Stay safe and warm and keep those curls loved! They’re as unique as you are!

Naturally Yours,

The Team at Flora & Curl
