Self-care Is The Best Care: 7 Ways To Look After Your Wellbeing

How have you been treating yourself lately? With so much uncertainty in the world, practicing self-care is more essential than ever when it comes to taking care of ourselves and our mental health.

We’ve put together a few self-care tips to inspire you and add calm to your life. 

1. Learn a New Hobby

 

Having a creative outlet can be a great way to unwind and release stress with a creative solution. You can find your new hobby on YouTube with never-ending tutorials to get you inspired to create and find your calm.

2. Pamper Yourself

 

What better way to pamper yourself than take care of you. An extended bath can do wonders for relaxing. Why not create an ambience? Light some candles, put on a face mask and relax with a good book and a cheeky glass of Rosé or a warming hot cocoa?

3. Ready Steady Cook

 

We all love a sweet treat, but whether sweet or savoury, baking or cooking can be a wonderful way to relax and put your energy into making something tasty for yourself. Whether it’s Nigella Lawson’s chocolate chip cookies, or Gordon Ramsey’s Shepherd’s Pie, there’s bound to be something you can whip up in the kitchen.

4. Journal 101

 

Keeping a journal is a great way to track your goals and remind you of the things you've accomplished and the things you still plan to accomplish.
Continuing to set goals for yourself will keep you motivated to achieve your goals and help boost your mental wellness positively. Remember, you've got this!

5. Netflix & Chill

 

We all know the famous Netflix & Chill quote, well that’s exactly what you can do. Get comfy on the sofa, grab your favourite snack, and chill out while binge watching your favourite TV show or the new latest movie. Don’t worry, the washing up can wait until later.

6. Work It Out

 

While things around us are constantly changing, now could be the time to take up walking or starting the yoga class that you have always wanted to try.
Exercising releases endorphins (hormones that make you feel good). So, get your heart pumping and start to feel great about yourself again.

7. Check In

Most importantly, check in with your loved ones. No matter how busy we can get with our day-to-day lives, we can sometimes forget to check in with one another.

Now, more than ever, a little laughter, a quick text or a phone call to just say hello, can make you feel a whole lot better and can make the other person on the end of the phone feel that much needed love too.
