The group Project Drawdown has ranked the 100 most effective climate change solutions. Rooftop solar panels are #10. Electric vehicles come in at #26. Household recycling is #55.

And educating girls? Educating girls was number 6. The impact is the equivalent of removing 361 million cars from the road. Simply stated, educating girls is one of the most high-impact and cost-impact ways to fight climate change.

When women are educated, families thrive. In addition, communities flourish, and economies grow: When a girl graduates high school, she is more likely to have fewer, healthier children, and make 20% more per year of schooling. Furthermore, as Project Drawdown notes, “Education also shores up resilience and equips girls and women to face the impacts of climate change. They can be more effective stewards of food, soil, trees, and water, even as nature’s cycles change. They have greater capacity to cope with shocks from natural disasters and extreme weather events.”

In short, when you educate a girl, you are changing the world to make it better.

These are matters that are often overlooked in today’s busy society but we want to help contribute to making that change with your help.

At Flora & Curl, our vision is to inspire confidence. We care not only about creating natural and safe products but also about playing a part in supporting women to help them feel confident.

We contribute a portion of our proceeds to She’s the first and Womankind to provide mentorship, support, knowledge and education to many girls around the world and we’d like to take the time to say thank you to our amazing customers who are helping us in our journey to make the changes in people's lives by continuing to purchase our products and believe in us, just how we believe in all women.

Women, especially those with little-to-no income and in communities where FGM, domestic violence, and forced marriage exist, deserve equal rights and treatment, a strong education, network and many more, in order for them to reach their full potential and change their world for the better. We’re grateful to be working with these charities, and to be able to contribute to a better world.
