How To Pick The Right Shampoo for Your Curls

With so many different kinds of products out there, it's no wonder we get a little confused and spend our hard earned money on all those new shampoos we just HAVE TO try. Well don't worry, Flora & Curl have got you covered. We're here to help with all those burning questions with our new How To Series.

From moisturising, to clarifying and co-washing, picking the right shampoo can be difficult. The purpose of a shampoo is to cleanse and clarify our scalp and strands from dirt, sebum and the build up we get from piling on those moisturising products throughout the week. A healthy scalp = happy scalp!

Clarifying Shampoos

  • Gives hair that 'squeaky' clean feeling
  • Does strip the hair of its natural moisture therefore is best to use once a month to give your hair a deep cleanse
  • Removes excessive build from the hair and scalp

Moisturising Shampoos

  • Helps cleanse the hair without stripping your strands of its natural oils
  • Can be used weekly
  • Generally cleanses the hair but you will still need a clarifying shampoo to get rid of excess product

Co - Washing

  • Cleansing the hair with a conditioner based shampoo
  • Can be used as many times throughout the week in-between main wash days
  • Does not get rid of all the build up (a moisturising shampoo is still needed)

With that said, say hello to our deeply and creamy moisturising clay-based cleanser.

Cut the time you spend on washday in half with our unique 2-in-1 cleansing and conditioning Clay Wash.
Our Curl Refresh Coconut Mint Curl Cleanser is perfect for cleansing your hair the natural way.

Nature's most healing earth clays of Morrocan Rhassoul and Bentonite purify the scalp of dirt and impurities, while fruit powders of organic Coconut and Banana powder deeply condition overworked strands, bringing your tired curls back to life.

Our unique formula is infused with wild medicinal plant oils of Lavender, Peppermint and Eucalyptus, which stimulate blood circulation in the scalp, improve penetration of the active components into hair follicles, thereby providing maximum activity of the treatment. It gently cleanses your hair, while strengthening and encouraging its growth to reveal stronger and firmer strands, bringing shine, definition and vitality back to even the dullest strands.

Hair needs to be cleansed naturally without stripping it of essential moisture and proteins.

Summary of benefits:

  • Hair-softening mineral clays naturally cleanse hair and scalp
  • Organic banana and coconut intensely conditions and detangles
  • Micro minerals in clays and mint oils stimulate scalp and promote hair growth
  • Visibly enhances curl definition
  • Perfect for dry hair and scalp in need of a refreshing detox

Let your curls say ''Aahh''

Naturally yours,

Team Flora & Curl
