Getting To Know Your Curls

Curly typing can sometimes be really stressful when trying to figure out which category your tresses fall into. Several different textures can exist on one head alone and there are many different factors that make up the type of curl that you have. Everyones curl pattern may be similar but they are all different. Just because someone has the same curl pattern as you, doesn't mean they will have the same porosity, density and length. Here's were we can help to make things a little simpler. The "hair typing system" ranges from type 1 | 2a-c | 3a-c and 4a-c.

Your curl type is determined by the shape of the follicle that grows out of your scalp. The flatter or more oval shaped the follicle, the curlier your hair. while the more circular follicle, the straighter your hair. Your curl pattern is also identified by the shape that the strands of hair make.

LOOSE CURL PATTERN
Type 1 is different to type 2 as it has no curl pattern what so ever and lies completely flat. The type 2 curl has a looser patter. Also know as type 2 hair, it can range from having a loose wave, moderate and more defined wave while the cuticle tends to lay closer to your head, forming an 's' type pattern. Using lighter products and a scrunching technique is best for this curl type.

MEDIUM CURL
A medium curly pattern can range from 3a - 3c. Having a loose curl pattern, you will see your hair starting to form loose loops all the way to full corkscrew ringlets. Hair can look more fuller but can also be prone to frizz. To keep its curl shape and not weigh them down, light products work well.

TIGHT CURL PATTERN
This specific curl pattern mainly consists of type 4 naturalists. Type 4 hair is known to be the driest hair type and also has the most shrinkage, not to mention frizz too. Ranging from the tightest of kinks and coils, this hair type can be both fine and course with lots of texture. Moisture is key!

Different curl types have different needs and will react differently with certain products. For example, the same product being used by someone with a looser curl pattern may show different results to a tightly coiled naturalist. Type 4 hair needs a lot of moisture, therefore the use of butters and creams will work best for you to really hydrate and get the moisture in. Whereas a looser curl type like type 2 with more of a wavy curl pattern will need lighter products as creams and butters would be too heavy. Theses are very important factors to keep in mind when choosing products for your tresses.
Naturally yours,
Kaisha

Mini kit

I really love the leavein. My hair feels so soft but i still have the volume. I love the mist. I love the oil. I am really in love with the smell of all products. I also recieved a mini butter. The first time i used it my hair looks very good. Second and third time it didnt. Maybe i buy it because the product gives a lot of volume and soft hair. I like that combo! Maybe i need to use less or a different way. I also like it because i dont need a gel on top.
The clay i only use it one time en the shampoo i didnt use yet. But so far i like the clay to.

The packaging is soooo cute.

Mystical Mist

The hair mist is one of the best products i have tried, it makes my hair moist and super soft in the mornings when it is dry from the whole night

I used this for my daughter's naturally curly hair, but also on my hair, which was chemically processed but now going back to my natural state. The product was immediately moisturising and hydrating, but without leaving a residue in the hair. Works well to protect the hair from heat styling as well, and smells wonderful.

So far so good. Used these products when i had my first curly cut. Purchased the travel bag to see if i liked them and i will be buying the full range when payday comes around. Love how easy the leave in conditioner is for my busy life.
